Recap: Day 1 Magic Kingdom and Epcot

Okay so where did I leave off. After our first day in the Magic Kingdom we decided to head over to Epcot that night. There were fireworks and after hours (for Disney resort guests only) that we needed to attend. We met the Lovings clan, Aunt Karnin and Zinks over there since they had gone all day. They got through about everything in Magic Kingdom so headed over to Epcot...they made some serious tracks.

So, we all met up at Epcot that night in Mexico. They had all been eating so we all got margaritas and nachos. Then we headed over to the center and watched the fireworks. As always Disney did not let us down with their fireworks display.

After the fireworks there were the special after hours that Disney resort guests get to take part in. It was awesome. Nobody was in the park...well some, but it was no crowds at all. So, the whole clan decided to go on the ride Soarin which is like you are hanggliding over California. Trenton was especially excited for this ride. While they were on that Cheryl, Jess and I stayed back with Avery, Isaac, Samuel and Riley (my sister's friend Shannon's little girl). I told Avery I wanted to take her to England so I could get a yard of beer. She was most excited about this. Well, turns out, they don't sell yards anymore...bummer, so we all settled for a pint. Avery and Isaac also got to feast on some yummy popcorn which we didn't hear a peep out of them the whole time they were eating it. Samuel fell asleep in the stroller so that was a relief. Well the other crowd got done with Soarin and the Lovings, Zinks, Karnin were all tuckered out from their 14 hour day so they headed back to our hotel.

Since all the big kids got to have their turn on a ride we figured we should get Avery and Isaac on something fun. We took them over to the Nemo ride. They loved it but Avery was a bit scared at times. Meanwhile, Jack, brian and Jerod all found some beers in England. I got a text message from my mom saying that on her way out she noticed the Epcot "meet and greet characters" there were no lines! YES-Isaac finally gets to meet Mickey...he'd been asking and asking all day to meet him. So, off we went to meet Mickey. The lines were AWESOME at this meet and greet. Highly suggest that to anybody doing this. After the characters it was nearing midnight so we decided to go home...the kids were still being awesome so it was a great day.

Here are some more pictures from our first day:
